Appointment Deposit Policy

Effective 2024

To continue providing high-quality and timely care for all our patients, Columbia Animal Hospital is implementing a new Appointment Deposit Policy. We understand that unexpected situations can arise, but we kindly ask for your cooperation in notifying us at least 24 hours in advance of any changes or cancellations to your scheduled appointments.

Deposit Structure

1. Online Appointments

  • Deposit: A $30 deposit is required at the time of booking.
  • Credit: This deposit will be credited to your bill at your pet’s examination.
  • Cancellations: Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable; however, you may reschedule once.
  • No-Show Policy: For no-call, no-show incidents, the deposit will be forfeited.

2. New Clients

  • Deposit: A $30 deposit is required when booking via phone, email, text, or online.
  • Credit: This deposit will be credited to your bill at your pet’s examination.
  • Cancellations: Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable; however, you may reschedule once.
  • No-Show Policy: For no-call, no-show incidents, the deposit will be forfeited.

3. Returning Clients (In-Person or Phone Bookings)

  • A $30 deposit is required only for clients with a history of no-call, no-shows or those who have canceled or rescheduled two consecutive appointments.

4. Surgeries

  • A deposit of 50% of the low-end estimate will be required upon booking.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

If you need to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours due to extenuating circumstances, the possibility of refunding your deposit will be at the discretion of the Hospital Manager and/or the Medical Director.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This policy is designed to help us maintain the quality and timeliness of care for all our patients.

Boarding Booking and Pricing Policy

Drop off and pick up windows:

We will have specific drop off and pick up windows on specific days. Those are as follows:

Drop off:

Tuesday thru Friday: 8am-9:30am or 3pm-5pm
Saturday: 8am to 9:30am (every other Saturday)
Sunday & Monday: Not available

Pick up:

Monday: 8am-9:30am or 4pm-4:30pm
Tuesday thru Friday: 8am-9:30am or 3pm-5pm
Saturday: 8am to 9:30am
Sunday: 4pm-4:30pm

  • No drop off or pick up available on the following Holidays:
  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Drop off and pick up windows may be subject to changing if clinic hours change

If these windows of time do not work and our clinic is open, there will be an additional fee to drop off or pick up outside these hours (see “Boarding Prices” below).

Cancellation/ Re-schedule or No-Show Policy:

Non Holiday Cancellations: We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but we kindly ask for your cooperation in providing us with at least 24 hours’ notice of any changes or cancellations to your pet’s scheduled bookings.

Holiday Cancellations: If your pet is staying with us over one of the holidays listed above, we kindly ask for at least a week’s notice if you need to cancel. This is because we usually fill up and have a waiting list for clients.

Drop off/pick up time changes: Please inform us ASAP by calling us at (573)875-3647. If the clinic is closed, our Animal Caretaker on duty will check voicemails so please leave us a message!

No-shows, canceling, or rescheduling w/in 24 hours: Just like our veterinary appointment policy, a $30 deposit will only be required for clients with a history of no-call, no-shows, or those who have canceled/rescheduled two consecutive appointments.

In situations where you need to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours of your appointment due to extenuating circumstances, whether you can be refunded your deposit is subject to the discretion of the Hospital Manager and/or the Medical Director.

Boarding Prices

Our pricing is charged by every 24 hours with a minimum charge of one day. If there is a half day (ex: 3 ½ days), we will charge half price.

Canine: $35 per day
Feline: $25 per day
Small Mammal: $30 per day
Avian: $30 per day
Reptile: $30 per day
Other Exotics: varies

Drop off fee outside window: $15
Pick up fee outside window: $7.50

Using our canine/feline Hill’s Science Diet: $3 per day
Administration of medication: $3.50 per medication per day
